چکیده
EM: erythema multiforme IL: interleukin LP: lichen planus MMP: mucous membrane pemphigoid PV: pemphigus vulgaris TNF-a: tumor necrosis factor-a INTRODUCTION Secukinumab is a new human monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin (IL)-17A, a cytokine involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. The US Food and Drug Administration approved secukinumab for psoriasis in 2015. Because the medication has been on the market for a short time, adverse events involving the oral mucosa are rarely reported. We report a case of severe, ulcerative, lichenoid mucositis associated with secukinumab use.

Oral Mucositis Induced By Anticancer Therapies
Oral mucositis induced by conventional cytotoxic cancer therapies is a common and significant clinical problem in oncology. Mucositis symptoms, which include severe pain, may lead to dose reductions and unplanned interruptions of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, and often affect patients' quality of life. In addition, ulcerative mucositis represents a risk factor for local or systemic infectio...
متن کاملRadiation treatment breaks and ulcerative mucositis in head and neck cancer.
Unplanned radiation treatment breaks and prolongation of the radiation treatment time are associated with lower survival and locoregional control rates when radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy is used in the curative treatment of head and neck cancer. Treatment of head and neck cancer is intense, involving high-dose, continuous radiotherapy, and often adding chemotherapy to radiotherap...

متن کاملPopulation Pharmacokinetic Modeling of Secukinumab in Patients With Moderate to Severe Psoriasis
Secukinumab is a human monoclonal antibody with demonstrated efficacy for moderate to severe psoriasis; it binds to and neutralizes interleukin (IL)-17A. The pharmacokinetic (PK) parameters of secukinumab were best described by a 2-compartment model. Only weight was included in the final model, as other covariates did not affect clinical relevance. The estimated serum clearance of secukinumab w...
